In this text we see that Abraham is prepared to sacrifice his own son in order to be obedient to God. And this points ultimately to God himself. He does not spare his own beloved Son, Jesus Christ, but gives him up as a sacrifice for our sake. What we’ll see therefore is that because God provides an offering to sacrifice, we, his people will live.
Preacher: Rev. Antonio Coppola.

We look at Genesis 20-21 this morning. After many years of waiting, God finally fulfills his promise to Abraham and Sarah to give them the son that he has promised them. Isaac is born miraculously, and through him all the other covenant promises that God has made to Abraham will be fulfilled. What we will see from this text is that because God is faithful to his promises, we can trust in him and rejoice in his goodness.
Preacher: Rev. Antonio Coppola.

This week’s sermon focuses on God’s destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah because of their wickedness. In particular, two sins: lack of hospitality and homosexuality. We also see God’s salvation of Lot and his family. We will see from this text that because God is holy and just, he is not neutral in the face of wickedness and injustice. Instead, he promises to judges the wicked and save the righteous.
Preacher: Rev. Antonio Coppola.

Preacher: Philip Rees

Wednesday Mar 02, 2022

In this first sermon on Ephesians, we’re going to focus on the first 14 verses of the first chapter. What we see here is a magnificent declaration of the truth of the gospel - that God has done everything necessary for our salvation. Every aspect of it – God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit - he has done it all.
Preacher: Antonio Coppola.

In this passage, Paul is pointing the Ephesians, and us, to the exalted Christ – to Jesus who reigns on high, who gives us hope and assurance of our faith as we get a grander vision of who he is!
We’re going to see tonight that: because Jesus reigns, our hope is secure in him.
Preacher: Antonio Coppola.

While it may not be the norm for God to raise corpses to life today, he is most certainly still in the business of raising the dead. In our text in Ephesians we see that this is true. If we believe in Jesus, the Bible says that we have been raised from death to life. This is what Paul is talking about here in Ephesians 2. Our salvation is not some casual decision that we once made, no, it is a miracle. We were once dead in our sins and God has miraculously raised us up to life in him! And because only God can raise the dead, our life in Christ is a gift of grace.
Preacher: Antonio Coppola.

Wednesday Mar 02, 2022

What Paul is showing us here in Ephesians 2 is that because of the cross of Christ, Jew and Gentile are reconciled as one new man in the church.
